When the Newberry Library accepted KITTY CAT into its “Living Archive of Modern Protest,” Renee saw that her personal narrative of the 2017 Chicago March might help others. The book contains “10 Tips to Marching” and an “Activist’s Guide.” It is a short, snarky, and informative reflection on what to expect as a marcher for social change and justice.

Wake, Rise, Resist-The Progressive Teen’s Guide to Fighting Tyrants and A*holes; Longtime friends, feminists, and writers Joanna Spathis and Kerri Kennedy spent a year being deeply involved in resisting “this misogynistic nightmare of an administration”—and fretfully watching many friends and friends’ children freezing up and tuning out. They knew they couldn’t risk losing an entire generation and sat down to build a book that would serve as an on-ramp to activism—a guide filled with practical ideas (128 of them!) on how to resist and important information on how to find your message and grow as an activist. Their book not only inspires people to get involved in social activism—it empowers them to do so. You can learn more and purchase the book on Amazon
